Synopsis:
An artificial heart would permit patients who would die without a heart to either live until a donor heart is available or to use the artificial heart as a replacement for an organic one. As the design is perfected and people test the heart, questions arise regarding the how the recipients of this technology are selected, do the patients have a better quality of life, is technology exceeding the ability of society to make ethical decisions.
