February Newsbrief for Michigan Tech Engineering Fundamentals
ENG1102 Design Projects are in full swing.  Students are completing their initial investigations into: Alternative Fuels, Autonomous Robot Design, Human-Hybrid Powered Vehicles, Microbrewing, or Supermileage Concept Vehicles.  They are now advancing to the proposal stage of their projects where they will be developing a plan to analyze, model and simulate their design concepts.
New this year is the Alternative Fuel design project.  Students are examining the sustainability and viability of a biomass-to-ethanol process using Upper Peninsula timber resources.  In addition, students are investigating< ways to eliminate waste byproducts from the ethanol production process.
